Winter 2020 – End of Life Matters Newsletter

At the end of each year, we turn our attention to showing gratitude and to cherishing the good things that are present in our lives. In a trying year, such as the one we just experienced, it is even more important to find positive things to focus on.

Here at End of Life Choices New York we are grateful for our supporters, volunteers, staff, and partners who make our work possible. Thanks to all of you, we continue to provide guidance and assistance in the three key disciplines that guide our work:

  • Support for individuals and families who are facing the end of life, or who wish to plan ahead;
  • Education for professionals, healthcare providers, lawyers, and social workers about end of life issues, advance directives, and patients’ rights;
  • Advocacy for the development of a bi-partisan bill to establish medical aid in dying in New York where we are taking the lead to make this a reality.

Click here to read an electronic version of our newsletter. You will also receive a printed version in the mail. In this the newsletter you will see how much progress we have made despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of your investment in our work, we have been able to carry on with our mission to expand choice at the end of life, respect every individual’s wishes, while striving for the best possible quality of life and a humane and peaceful death.

We hope that you will be able to continue your support with a gift at this time. If you are able to help, please click donate to make a tax-deductible contribution.

You may be aware that the federal government recently passed the CARES Act which provides additional tax deductibility for your donation in 2020.  Hopefully, that will encourage your participation again.

Our staff remains committed to answering your questions and we are happy to take your calls or inquiries. Please call us at 212-726-2010 or email us at info@eolcny.org.

We wish you the very best holiday season and thank you for your interest in our work.

With Warm Regards,
Ayana Woods
Executive Director
