Update On Our Advocacy Work

Thank you so much for your continued support of End of Life Choices New York and our mission. We appreciate you being a part of our community and wanted to share some updates with you on our work this past year.

EOLCNY remains committed to and passionate about advocating for New Yorkers’ right to a peaceful death. We have been working tirelessly to continue to fight for legislative change that expands the rights of all individuals at the end of life. Senior consultant, David Leven, alongside other dedicated individuals, have met with several key legislators on both the Assembly and Senate Health Committees to urge sponsorship of the Medical Aid in Dying Act, A.4321, Paulin, S.6471, Savino. While we are still one to two votes short in both committees, there has been some positive movement thatcould make way for momentum in the new year.

Additionally, EOLCNY has initiated several bills that expand and protect New Yorkers patients’ rights. David Leven has also written multiple articles and letters to the editor, outlining the case and urgency for Medical Aid in Dying, that have been published in the New York Law Journal, the New York Times, the New York Daily News, the Las Vegas Sun, and the Finger Lakes Times.

Thank you for helping to advance this historic work. Please consider making a donation today.
