Welcoming Our New Executive Director
January 4, 2023

Thank You

As we reflect on the past year we are filled with gratitude. We are so grateful for our supporters, without whom our work would not be possible. We are thankful for our collaborators and partners who share our vision for a New York where all can have a peaceful death. We are humbled by the many New Yorkers who connected with us this year; we thank you for your continued trust.

Here are some of the highlights from this year:

  • The number of New Yorkers accessing our online resources increased by 90%.
  • We celebrated the signing of Assembly Bill A8880A, a bill we helped advocate for, which requires that a statewide advance care planning campaign be established.
  • We launched our End of Life Care Community Advocate Training, a fully online, self-paced course that trains professionals across disciplines to be better prepared to advocate for the communities they serve when planning for, or navigating, serious illness and the end of life. To date, more than 100 individuals have participated in this course.
  • More than 1,100 people attended events we participated in or hosted.
  • We began a new article series — End of Life Options: Conversations with Judy (aka "Ask Judy") — where our Clinical Director, Judith Schwarz, answers questions about end of life planning and care.
  • We helped dozens of New Yorkers who needed an informed advocate and direct support.

  • The demand for our services and resources continues to increase, and we respond to all who contact us. Your help is necessary to ensure we can continue offering our critical services in 2023. We thank all of those who have invested in our mission with donations and support. If you have not yet had a chance to contribute, there is still time to give before the end of the year!
