Over 60 advocates from across the state of New York participated in the March to End Needless Suffering, organized by Compassion and Choices. All day, we engaged in several different ways to bring attention to this issue. We held signs with pictures of advocates who have died trying to access Medical Aid in Dying. We spoke with legislative offices about our own personal reasons for wanting this option, working to convince them to co-sponsor the bill. We attended a press release which allowed senators, assembly members and family members an opportunity to share their story. It was a powerful day full of compassion, connection and support. Pictured are End of Life Choices New York Senior Consultant for Advocacy, David Leven, Executive Director, Mandi Zucker, and Compassion and Choices' Chief Advocacy Officer, Charmaine Manansala. To continue the energy around this issue, please use this phone banking list and script to call all legislators that we met with this week to share your support. Feel free to add your own personal story or message.
