To advocate for yourself and to determine your own end of life care plans, you need to know your rights and sometimes make difficult decisions. End of Life Choices New York educates the general public, students, and health care professionals about end of life planning, options, and rights. Because of our generous supporters like you, we have been able to help more and more New Yorkers understand some of the unique health care decisions during the past year, a year like no other for health care decisions. Because of the pandemic, more people are realizing the need for advance directives, and family conversations about end of life wishes. We have been there to help every step of the way. This past year we provided 60 presentations and produced 13 videos on a variety topics including hospice, palliative care, living wills, and the NYS Health Care Proxy Form. We featured leading experts and partnered with community organizations, professional groups, and universities to reach wider audiences. Our programs have been offered in English and Spanish. We need your help in order to provide education and support to all New Yorkers. Please donate today, so that we may continue these vital services in 2021 and beyond. |
You may be aware that the federal government recently passed the CARES Act which provides additional tax deductibility for your donation in 2020. The CARES Act re-incentivizes charitable giving by creating a $300 above the line deduction for qualified charitable contributions. This deduction is available to all taxpayers that take the standard deduction on their 2020 return. Please consult with your personal tax advisor regarding your specific eligibility for this deduction.
