Making Decisions while Living Under the Threat of COVID-19

September 9, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Jointly sponsored by Death with Dignity-Albany and End of Life Choices New York

We are all living under challenging constraints due to the Coronavirus. There is an ever-present fear about contracting the disease, and experiencing a COVID-related emergency that would require hospitalization. During this time of uncertainty, what is within our control to address our concerns and plan ahead?

Join us via Zoom for a discussion on practical steps to address your concerns and how to effectively communicate and implement your wishes about medical interventions before a crisis occurs. Opportunities to ask questions will be provided.

Judith Schwarz, PhD, Clinical Director at End of Life Choices New York, is an expert on ethical issues relating to patient self-determination and informed end of life decision-making. She is one of the most experienced and highly respected end-of-life counselors in the country. Judith earned a PhD in nursing research from New York University, an MSN from Lehman College, and an RN from St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

Our collaborator: Death with Dignity- Albany believes that everyone deserves to have a dignified, peaceful death. An organization based in Albany and serving the Capital Region of New York State and beyond, it provides a forum for people to discuss end of life issues. It also serves as a launching pad for advocacy and legislation that expands the available choices at the end of life.
