The experience of the loss of a loved one is inevitable, yet end-of-life issues are not often discussed—or, when they are, they evoke discomfort at a time when people are at their most vulnerable. How can knowing about what is in store help make the transition easier? What is the extent of what we consider in life and death? How can our community’s stories help and heal?
Join End of Life Choices New York, and Word Up Community Bookshop for a night of storytelling in Spanish and English by writers and poets as they share their own recent experiences of loss and make space for others to share, and learn.
The performers will be curated by Word Up Community Bookshop, a collectively operated, volunteer-run bookshop and arts space based in Uptown NYC. End of Life Choices NY will be onsite to provide bilingual resources and answer questions.
