Bills to establish aid in dying in New York, initiated by End of Life Choices New York, have been introduced in both houses of the New York State Legislature. Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D) introduced a bill, A. 5261, and Senator John Bonacic (R) has introduced an identical bill, S. 5814. We are very pleased that the bills that we crafted have bi-partisan support and are the only bills on aid in dying which have this necessary support. These bills, which were introduced for the first time during this legislative session, are now in the health committees of both houses. Further consideration of them will not be given until the next legislative session begins in January. Click here to see the Assembly bill: a5261-B Paulin, S. 5814, Bonacic
