February 12, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Executive Director Laurie Leonard will present this two hour workshop to the staff at the Selfhelp Community Services, Inc., Community Guardian Program.
Social Workers have a responsibility to help ensure that the dying should not endure more suffering than they are willing to bear. But social workers can only do this if they have a proper understanding of their clients’ health care rights, the procedures they need to follow to protect themselves, and their end of life treatment options.
Through lecture and discussion, participants will (1) increase their knowledge around end of life treatment options, advance care planning, palliative care, life-sustaining treatments and hospice and (2) be better prepared help their clients to have their health care wishes honored and receive more effective end of life care.
This workshop is not open to the public, if you are interested in attending a social work training please email email@example.com.
