Aid in Dying in New York
September 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Executive Director Laurie Leonard will present “Aid in Dying in New York: Your Right to Choose” for the staff at JASA in Brooklyn. This speech will focus completely on aid in dying, the process by which a mentally competent, terminally ill adult patient obtains a prescription of medicines which the patient may ingest to end suffering and achieve a peaceful death. Topics covered include current attempts to legalize aid in dying in New York through legislation or litigation; and the experiences of other states in which aid in dying is already legal.
